We are doing everything we can to “flatten the curve.” Our organization oversees the care of over 500 endangered turtles and tortoises at our conservation center in California. The animal care team is hard at work ensuring animals from confiscations and breeding programs continue to thrive. Our field program staff in Mexico and South Africa are following local instructions and guidance to minimize health risks while continuing conservation work where possible.
With turtles as our “shelter-in-place” guide, we have suspended member visits to our conservation center and are permitting our core staff to work from home. The campus will remain closed until further notice. We comply with all state and federal guidelines and will only resume normal operations when we feel it is safe for our staff, family, and supporters. For members interested in virtual tour experiences, please contact us via email.
